This I love. Shows Yukkuri strategically thinking.

The only problem is that the food could easily roll into the trash hole.

I imagine that the hole isn't directly under the food, zattsu just decided having the pit and the food by the doorway wouldn't make much sense, either. Since he's working in two dimensions he has to choose between one or the other.

It definitely is drawn to show that the trash hole isn't directly under the food storage door.

But I kinda think the little ones might find it hard to survive if they get too accustomed to eating sweet fruits....

There actually is a danger of it rolling into the refuse hole. The incline the food is at the top of is too steep, and the the storage area should have sloped downward after the climb. If a little food falls, it all runs a chance of falling, and momentum would carry some of it into the refuse hole.

That I know. But at least the yukkuri's don't have to jump over a hole to a compost to get to the food.

But what about this: the door to the trash hole and the door to the food room are next to each other? Like a small room that the little ones are thought to evade so they can go directly to the food storage and have no danger?

I was just pointing out a structural flaw. They should have dug down after the incline. It's impractical as it is.
